Rice University Humanities Research Center
Since its establishment in 1987, the Humanities Research Center has been committed to fostering interdisciplinary connections while promoting the research goals of the humanities broadly construed. From its modest beginnings to its present status as an internationally recognized center, the HRC has supported research of visiting scholars, faculty, graduate, and undergraduate students. The HRC brings distinguished scholars from around the world to the Rice campus each year through sponsorship of conferences, workshops, and international faculty fellowships; enriches the intellectual life of the university; and fosters robust exchanges among Rice, the nation, and the world. Research initiated through the HRC’s programs extends beyond the humanities and furthers the center’s ambitious goal of blurring the boundaries between the humanities and other disciplines.
