Coby Condrey is the Collection Development Liaison Librarian at the University of North Texas Libraries. He completed his BA with Honors in Latin and his MLIS degrees at the University of Texas at Austin. After working many years in a state library overseeing a government documents program, he transitioned to academic librarianship. His experience includes materials acquisitions, cataloging, web design, publishing, program management, reference service, bibliographic instruction and outreach. His academic research interests pertain to scholarly communications issues, developments in open access and open content, and emerging methods of collection development such as evidence-based programs like demand-driven acquisitions and access-over-ownership models.
He is a longstanding member of the Texas Library Association, in which he has held numerous elected positions at the unit level. He has presented, developed programs and moderated training events frequently at TLA annual conferences. He is also a member of the American Library Association and some of its affiliated units, including ALCTS and GODORT. His contributions to the Digital Frontiers conference include event planning, peer review of program proposals, fundraising, hospitality committee duties, logistics planning, and moderating programs.
